Well a tremendous season has come to an end... - 20 odd registered local cars coupled with regular visits from Hawkes Bay competitors made for very good numbers for the majority of the season and a good calibre of racing. -Finally after 15 years a local won the Roseland Tavern Classic,92g Brett Lloyd, infact the top three places, 78b Andrew Powell, and 27g Toby Pickering all were Gisborne Club members. The way the locals helped each other out was a highlight and something that would not have happened not so long ago. with 88g Ian Barron also picking up the stirrers award.. A quality feild of 31cars was also great to see and all certainley bodes well for the future of this event - The Ashley Scott- A very very sort after trophy and wasn't it great to see 84m Ryan Smyth and 78b Andrew Powell take part in this event. the first two races really are every man for himself and the stirrers award is also really sort after which also leads to plenty of Biff. Ian Barron Ryan and 8g Bruce Harding certainley earned their placing as did Sam Hughes re the stirrers. - Great to see 10g Kent harper 7g Ivan Mooney 51g Alan Stairs 56g Alan Gidons all new to the sport and 21g Shane Walker coming over from street stocks - Great to see the lift in Gear with 27g Toby Picking 79g Lance Sutherland 86g Jason Harding 81g Jason Jones 37b Ricky Kuru 92g Brett LLoyd 88g Ian Barron 10 g Kent Harper all driving very competive cars even if compared on a national stage. - Very good news for the Class also with the North Islands to be staged here in the 2011-2012 season - Great turnout by the class at the prize giving. - 'G' cars travelling to other tracks on a regular basis. - Mike Schwass ( The Enforcer) one of the local radio stations and the news paper seem to really have started to promote this one time street stock hard man, coupled with his on going feud with Sam Hughes has seen plenty of "hype" which has to be good for the class and the fans. -David Kingsbeer- The Class rep has been one of the main driving forces behind the strong return of this class and is owed a huge amout of thanks, will not be standing for rep for the coming season as wants to concentrate on Daughters ministock career and lets hope that whispers of another stockcar in time for the North Islands prove to be correct. Already there have been a few cars sold, a couple being built the odd upgrade, talk of some returning and some leaving guess we will just have to wait till a bit closer to the new season to see what is really going to happen but am sure if next season is as good as this last one it will again be a top year for the stockcar class in Gisborne Scott Ross.
